What it’s like here

You are not booking a room. You are booking an entire villa, just for you and the people you bring.

Mornings can start late, with breakfast brought to your villa. Coffee can stretch out on the terrace. The evening may find you in the hot tub, with the forest beside you and not a worry about tomorrow.

There are no set mealtimes and no indoor spaces to share with strangers. If you like, we prepare breakfast and bring it to the villa, but you can just as easily look after yourselves in your own fully equipped kitchen.

And, perhaps most importantly, we respect your privacy. We do not enter the villa during your stay. Cleaning and fresh towels happen only when you ask.

The villa is yours. The time is yours.

The smallest and most intimate of our villas can be yours alone. The outdoor terrace, surrounded by forest, belongs exclusively to you, as does the heated outdoor hot tub. It is the place we recommend to couples who come to rest, to celebrate an occasion or simply to spend time together.

Forest Retreat was born from our own experiences. As mountain lovers (we were born in Sinaia) and great fans of secluded places to stay, offering plenty of nature, peace and privacy along with a high level of comfort, we found there were not many places to stay where we could have it all.

And we realised we were not the only ones: more and more people are looking for a secluded, quiet and comfortable place in the Prahova Valley, and places like that are still few and far between.

That is how IRIS, ELENA and BRUNO came to be, one after another – the only 5-star villas in Bușteni.

We answer your messages personally, help you choose the right villa and welcome you when you arrive.

Here, time seems to slow down.

Mornings can start late, with a coffee on the terrace and nothing and no one to hurry you.

Maybe you feel like the hot tub. Maybe you head off for a walk in the forest or up the mountain. Maybe you stay at the villa, cook something together and enjoy a day when you don’t have to be anywhere.

If you choose the option with breakfast, mornings are even easier: we bring it to your villa at a time agreed with you.

At Forest Retreat Villas we don’t try to fill your day with activities. We give you the place, the quiet and the privacy. What you do with your time is up to you.

What is Forest Retreat Villas?+
Forest Retreat Villas is a small complex of 3 luxury villas at an altitude of 900 m, right at the edge of the forest, in the sunniest part of Bușteni (the Zamora neighbourhood). Each villa has its own capacity and, for maximum privacy, is rented as a whole. Forest Retreat Villas is the only 5-star rated accommodation in Bușteni.
The villa is just for us, but what do we share with the other guests of the complex?+
Everything has been designed so that our guests enjoy as much privacy as possible. Still, the garden, the outdoor pool and the salt room are shared by the three villas. Because Forest Retreat Villas is a small complex, you will only share them with the guests of the other villas, if they are occupied. If you book the Entire Complex, everything is reserved for your group alone.
Is breakfast included?+
Yes, if you choose the rate with breakfast included. We prepare breakfast and serve it at your villa, at whatever time you like. If you would rather look after yourselves, every villa has its own fully equipped kitchen.
Is the villa cleaned during our stay?+
Yes, but only if you ask us to. We care a great deal about our guests’ privacy, so we do not enter the villa during your stay unless we have agreed it together. At check-in we discuss whether and when you would like cleaning or fresh towels.
Can we bring the children?+
Yes, families with children are very welcome at Forest Retreat Villas. Vila ELENA and Vila IRIS are the best suited to family stays, with more bedrooms and generous spaces. Depending on the number and ages of the children, we will help you choose the right villa and sleeping arrangements for your family.
How far is Forest Retreat Villas from Bucharest?+
Forest Retreat Villas is in Bușteni, about 130 km from Bucharest. The drive usually takes around 1 h 45 min to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Bușteni railway station is a few minutes away. On request, we can also arrange your transfer to the villas.
Can we bring pets?+
Although we are great animal lovers ourselves, some of our guests suffer from allergies, so pets are not allowed.
Is the pool open all year?+
No. The heated outdoor pool is seasonal, usually open from May until early October, weather permitting. The hot tubs, saunas and salt room can be used all year round, depending on the facilities included in the option you choose.
Do the villas have their own barbecue?+
Yes, every villa has its own outdoor grill, with all the accessories you need.
How do we book, and what happens if we can no longer come?+
Tell us your dates, the number of guests and, if you are bringing children, their ages, and we will recommend the right villa and stay option. A booking is confirmed against a proforma invoice and payment of a 50% deposit of the price of the stay. If you can no longer come, the deposit is not lost – you can use it as a deposit for a future booking, on dates we agree together.
Is there a charging point for electric cars?+
Yes, the complex has two charging stations.

When there are more of you and you want it to be just you.

If you are coming with family, friends or your team, you can book the Entire Complex just for your group. Three villas, 10 bedrooms and spaces where you can all be together, for groups of up to 20.

Celebrate a birthday, gather the family you see too rarely or take your team away from the office for a few days. Whatever the reason, the Entire Complex stays yours alone for the whole stay.
