1. Who we are

The website forestretreatvillas.ro is operated by Forest Retreat Villas, with its place of business at Str. Primăverii nr. 12, Bușteni, jud. Prahova. For any question about cookies or about your data, please write to us at contact@forestretreatvillas.ro.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser. On your next visit, the browser sends it back and the website “remembers” something: that you have already chosen your language, that you have responded to this banner or, if you have consented, which pages you have read.

This policy also covers technologies that achieve the same result by other means: the browser’s local storage and tracking pixels (invisible images that signal that a page has been opened).

3. How consent works on this website

On your first visit you see a banner with three options of equal prominence: accept all, accept only what is strictly necessary, or choose by category. Until you click one of them, only strictly necessary cookies are active.

Refusing is as easy as accepting, and making no choice is treated as a refusal. If you withdraw your consent, we stop the scripts and delete the cookies they have already set.

Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which we ask you again. We also ask you again sooner if we add a new category or a new provider.

4. The categories we use

4.1 Strictly necessary

These make the website work and cannot be refused, because without them we cannot deliver the pages to you. They do not track you and are not shared with anyone outside.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a functioning website and respecting your choice (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For the consent cookie, electronic communications legislation does not require separate consent.

4.2 Preferences

These remember choices you have already made, so you do not have to repeat them: the language you selected or the sections you have closed. They are activated only with your consent.

4.3 Statistics

These show us how many people visit the website, which pages they read, what kind of device they use and where they leave. We use them to fix what does not work and to improve our pages. We do not identify you personally from them.

Legal basis: consent. Providers: Google Ireland Limited and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, acting as processors. Data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. The IP address is truncated before storage.

4.4 Marketing

These help us show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram and see whether an ad led to a booking enquiry. They are activated only with your consent.

5. Content from other websites

The map on the contact page is loaded from Google Maps, and the WhatsApp button opens the WhatsApp app or website. When you use these elements, the respective providers may receive your IP address and may set their own cookies, in accordance with their policies.

The links to Facebook, Instagram and TikTok in the website footer are ordinary links. We do not load anything from social networks into the page, and there are no “like” buttons that track your visit.

6. How to change your choice

Via the Cookie preferences link, always available in the footer of every page. You can tick or untick any category, at any time, without contacting us.

You can also delete cookies directly in your browser, in its privacy settings. In that case, the website will ask you again on your next visit, because it no longer has any way of knowing what you chose.

7. What we keep as proof of consent

The law requires us to be able to demonstrate that you have given your consent. Therefore, when you click a button in the banner, we record: the exact time, the categories selected, how you decided (accept, refuse or preferences), the version of this policy, the page on which you decided, your IP address and browser type.

We do not record your name, email address or other data that directly identify you. The record is assigned a random code, which is stored in your browser. If you ask us to erase it, you give us the code and we do so.

Legal basis: the legal obligation to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR). Duration: 3 years from the last change of your choice, the usual period within which such proof may be requested.

8. Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to request its rectification or erasure, to object to processing and to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it, but it stops any further processing. The details are set out in our privacy policy.

9. Changes

If we add a new tool or change the categories, we update this page and ask for your consent again. The date at the top shows the most recent change.
